Lamborghini’s "The Barber" commercial is a heartwarming short film that captures the essence of the brand's Italian heritage while also telling a compelling story. The commercial takes a documentary approach to tell the story of Gianni, a real barber who has owned his shop in the heart of Milan since 1958.

The Brand

When approaching Davide, Lamborghini already knew exactly what they wanted; “A warm and welcoming story about an old barber that, thanks to a young Lamborghini owner, engages more clients and starts his business again.” The commercial's central message is that people of different ages and backgrounds can come together to create something new and exciting. The young Lamborghini owner and the old barber may be from different worlds, but they are united by their passion for their respective crafts. By coming together, they create something that is greater than the sum of its parts - the revival of a pillar of the community that draws customers from all walks of life.

The Barber

The key to telling this story was finding the perfect location and actor. Early in the production process, they found exactly that in Gianni. Davide had no issues bringing the warmth out of Gianni even though he had never been on set before. “I tried my best to make him feel comfortable,” Davide explains, “Emotion came out naturally because Gianni was happy to see young people getting to know his shop and his story.”
